Many schools and charities have used DUFFEY's services as a caricature artist to benefit their fundraising efforts.

The premise is simple - DUFFEY draws the sketches at the event and receives his compensation from the event sponsor. Guests are asked to contribute a set amount or a suggested donation for their sketch. It never fails - guests are so pleased that often a suggested donation of $20 is enhanced by $5 to $20 more - adding revenue for the fundraising group. Schools have "presold" DUFFEY's caricatures of their students, and then DUFFEY goes to the school site to sketch the children on the appointed day(s) - similar to "picture" day.

Many events and golf tournaments have multiple sponsors or underwriters. One way to enhance earnings for the charity is to have one of the underwriters get some free, continuous advertising - their logo is placed on the template {here we put in an example of the PEPSI/GOLF TOURNAMENT one} and that sponsor/underwriter pays for DUFFEY's fee to attend the event or tournament and draw caricatures. In this way, the charity, foundation or school does not expend ANY money for DUFFEY's services, but reaps the benefits from the sketches (whether the sign says "Suggested Donation" or "$20 per Sketch - All Proceeds to the Charity"). When a sponsor/underwriter pays, it is a great investment for them --- their logo is displayed on the paper for as long as the artwork is displayed in that person's home or office. People love DUFFEY's sketches and take them to their home or office for framing.

For GOLF TOURNAMENTS or other "STAR SPONSORED" functions - with the permission of the celebrity -- his/her face can be pre-drawn on the caricature on one side, and then the paper is autographed by them. [ we need an example near here of Michelle McGann or the other one with the football player, Jim Jensen]. DUFFEY then draws the patron's face on the other side of the paper. The patron pays for not just a caricature of him/herself, but for one of his/herself with the celebrity - complete with autograph! This can be sold for even more by the charity -- making DUFFEY a potential gold mine for fundraisers!

For school and church settings, caricatures by DUFFEY can be partially or fully "pre-sold." When we do this, we would create a special template for the school or church and DUFFEY does one sketch in advance from a photograph of one of the school children. Then, the school fundraising committee can photocopy the template and the sample caricature and send it home to show the parents/patrons what the item will look like when their own child is sketched into the picture. In this way, the school or church can book DUFFEY for a date at the school or the event and get an estimate of the number of hours he will spend to complete the pre-sold sketches. This maximizes the fund-raising effort -- DUFFEY goes to the school or church site to sketch the children on the appointed day(s)/hour(s) - similar to "picture" day. Parents are so thrilled that requests come in after the sketch day from parents who want their child's portrait done from a photograph.

For charities, schools and churches, we do charge $50 for the template, but that charge covers our copying expense (especially if in color). We do not charge for the time to draw the sample "face" from the photograph/s you send us (which we return promptly with the sample).
